Joy in the Morning

I have been so excited to get up in the morning to get my day started!  I have fun projects to work on and I feel better too. I am finishing a quilt sometime next week and it has taken 1 1/2 years, About time!  I am also doing family history.  Its a little slow, but very exciting. In the afternoon I rest by watching Hallmark movies. I m enjoying my retirement!  I appreciate all of my blessings that make each day better than ever!  We completed our income taxes, so we celebrated by having steaks for dinner. We watched some old movies and then they delivered the Girl Scout cookies that Frank sold.  He sold 372 boxes this year. Fun evening!

I am so lucky to have a new laptop to work with.  It's going to take time to get use to this keyboard, but I'm eager to progress.  I have been quilting, cleaning, and spending time with my sweetheart.  That is happiness!  I am trying to keep up with my New Year's resolution to improve each day.  I gained some inspiration to read scriptures in a different way and I'm so excited to do it.  I also have been excited because I have redone my closet and I love it. I hope to finish a quilt next week and that will be a big accomplishment for me. Day by day I gain happiness!

I was able to spend the morning with Frank.  He went on his work calls and then we went to a viewing for Norma Stuehser.  She and her husband Al were camp hosts at the Spruces for many years.  We also saw many of the other Hosts that we have made friends with in the past few years.  When we got home I went to the  store for medications and other necessities.  We had Hawaiian Haystacks for lunch and then I watched a Hallmark movie.  I rested.  Frank was at the Church in the evening, so I watched another Hallmark movie.
I am so blessed and full of gratitude.  Monday was busy and successful.  We had our Family Home Evening for the Single Seniors.  We had 29 in attendance and enjoyed Hawaiian Haystacks for lunch.  Patriarch Bawden gave a lovely lesson.  I was able to rest a little in the afternoon, and then prepared for the Mills brothers for a family dinner.  It was a lovely evening.  These in-laws of mine are fabulous!

My Delights

My husband really spoils me!  He has done the laundry for years.  I know I get clean clothes on Monday and clean sheets on Friday.  I have really appreciated his help when I have been sick lately.  We have a lot of fun together and he is my best friend.  Today I have found JOY in sewing, sending St. Patrick's Day cards to grandsons, watching rain and snow, and finishing chores. I called a friend, made appointments, and enjoyed resting a little. Good day today!

Still here

Still hanging in there and its almost Spring!  I have had bouts with sinus infection and allergies.  I haven't got as much energy as I'd like.  BUT I am so blessed!  I have enjoyed cleaning my house and decluttering, organizing lots of household activities, and even cleaning my scrapbook room.  I need to finish sewing quilts for my daughters, make scrapbooks of photos for my children, and start getting the motorhome ready for the coming summer.  I am in the process of addressing my sleep apnea, developing a healthier diet, and trying to get a little exercise in along the way.  I guess I've been hanging in there very nicely!

Gratitude

I have really enjoyed this holiday season.  I didn't do Thanksgiving dinner here, so we went to Lori's home for dinner.  It was wonderful!  She asked me to make the stuffing and everyone else contributed to the meal too.  In the afternoon we went home and took a nap.  We went to Rose Park to share a dinner with Donna's family.  It was very interesting and delicious.
Christmas was especially satisfying this year.  We got neighbor gifts done early, cards mailed out early, decorations done early, and gifts wrapped early.  It was wonderful!  We enjoyed going to concerts with our grandchildren performing, family parties, parties with friends, watching Christmas movies and getting some relaxation time.  I am so blessed!  I am truly thankful for my family and friends that make this season so special.  I am so thankful for the birth of our Savior and his willingness to die for me.  That is the greatest gift of all.
