Changes

I'm off to a good start this week. I'm eager to organize and clean, but some of it will wait until my sweet hubby gets over his cold. He came home from work this morning and went to bed, so I know he's not feeling well. He seldom goes to bed when he's sick. I still have a list a mile long to work on that is quieter. I know I need to change some major habits to improve my health and I am working on that too. I guess I got a wake-up call when my classmate, Larry H. Miller, passed away last Friday from complications of Type 2 Diabetes. I hope I can develop a tighter control of my blood sugar and make better progress in my over-all health.
I visited with my son last night and found out he is facing a lot of change. Last Friday he was laid off from his job at the hospital. They also placed a hiring freeze that means he can't even apply for a job there right now. He spent his weekend job hunting. He applied for one job with the Davis County Jail that pays more than the hospital. IF he gets it, he has to take Police Officer training which would make him an EMT, a nurse, a firefighter, and a cop. That would be some interesting changes. They also sold their home this weekend. Now they have to find someplace to live. Another major change when you are unemployed. I hope they can work it all out successfully. Well, I guess I'll go work on some positive changes around here. Have a great week!

Spring???

I heard some birds chirping and began to think how nice it would be for springtime. Sun is shining today so that is another good sign. I get tired of winter very quickly. I have also been enjoying my grandson's laughter and squeals of joy. I need to exhibit that much joy. I am enjoying classic literature again thanks to my daughter. She went to the library yesterday and came home with Jane Austen books. I'm enjoying "Pride and Prejudice" and she is reading "Emma". When we finish we will trade. Maybe I need to try some of the classics I haven't read before. I know there are lots of them. I'm also looking forward to going to the Temple tonight, and then enjoy the company of Ward members for ice cream and pie afterwards. Even if it isn't quite Spring yet, I've decided to put some spring in my step and really enjoy life today. I hope you can do the same. Have a great day.

It's been a busy week. I keep thinking I'll write, but when I got time I didn't want to write. However, I have been making progress, and it's a brand new week to get a fresh start on the things I didn't do as well. I was inspired in our tour of the Draper Temple. I am so blessed. I am making progress on cleaning, thanks to Amie. I also love the sweet sounds of my grandsons--that includes the tears as well as the giggles. I enjoy my callings and my Church friends. Our home is warm and comfy. I have such a special family and friends. I guess this is a blog of appreciation this week. I also LOVE my special, thoughtful, patient husband. I owe you a big one honey! Have a wonderful, blessed week!

Onward, Onward

Sometimes it helps to reflect a little and then move forward. I guess that has been the plan for the past few days. Sinus infection has slowed me down, but I did some reading that spurred me on to some new things. I have made a plan to help me get better control of my blood sugars and improve my daily eating pattern. I'm excited. I also made some plans to strengthen my spiritual self too. Sometimes it helps to take a step back to get a better look at the future. Maybe illness has its place in helping to move forward to better things. Enough self-reflection for now. Maybe I can give a report on progress next week. Hope you all have a great week.
