Christmas spirit

I'm not one to enjoy snow unless I'm inside. It does give us that White Christmas spirit though. We enjoyed a few grandchildren overnight. It was a lot of fun. We played hide and seek in the basement with flashlights. Delightful!! We made paper airplanes--lots of them. We had waffles with ice cream. As long as I can play with them I will be young at heart.
I have been binding a quilt for Quilt Club. It's not quite finished, but I think I will have it done in time. I made two of the blocks and hope to get one more done. Learning! I also have a few more Christmas gifts to make--then shopping too. This coming week We have our Home Teaching--Visiting Teaching dinner, Temple night at the Salt Lake Temple, a night with a grandson, the Mills Adult Party, the Mills Children's Party, and our Ward Party. Take a deep breath and RUN!! I love the Christmas season!

Still Thankful

Busy and fun weekend! We got our Christmas decorations done and I love the Christmas feeling and the music. I'm so thankful I can listen to it without abandon now. Lovely, quiet Sunday was so nice. Today I was thankful for the CES class with President Christensen. It really challenges me to study scriptures a little more. Now I can do some studying on my own till class starts again in January. Enjoy you week!

Thanksgiving

This past week has flown by! Had a great weekend with grandkids and my boys. I'm so thankful for the family I enjoy and fantastic friends. Monday I enjoyed our religion class with President Christensen. Such a wonderful opportunity learning about the law of forgiveness. We enjoyed Frank's brothers' at dinner Monday night. Delightful evening.
Tuesday I substituted in 2nd grade for a few hours. Oh, how thankful I am that I don't have to do that everyday. I also enjoyed getting some items ready for Thanksgiving. I loved Dancing with the Stars this week--Yay! Donny Osmond!
Today we have all of our sons and their families coming for dinner. We also have a foreign exchange student from Spain, a young man from our Ward at church, and our grand-nephew. That puts 16 at our table. I'm so thankful for our large room and niceties that make the day easier. It should be lots of fun. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Life is good

I'm enjoying working with ESL students in language, reading, and math. It is good for me to have a little extra in my schedule because I find I organize myself better. Today I finished the sewing on all of my quilt Christmas presents. I still have two to tie, but I know I'll have them done in time. Wahoo! Tomorrow our family will help our son move. Its been a long wait, but the day is finally here. I'm so thankful that they rally around each other when help is needed. I also enjoyed an activity making Thanksgiving turkeys using my hand print. It was fun to see the creativity in the group. Have a safe happy weekend!

Serendipity

Taking a fresh look at life is always refreshing and rewarding. I am thankful that some days I can just do what I'm in the mood for. Today I enjoyed good meals, good friends, fun activities, quilting, and shopping. I finished another quilt today. YaY!! Now I can finish up the next one! It was fun to move from one thing to another as the thought hit me. I call that a serendipity day.

Beautiful Autumn

I am so thankful for the beautiful colors we've enjoyed this fall. Everything seemed vivid and bright to me this year. Now the weather is taking a bigger change and we move on to another season. I'm also thankful for furnaces, fireplaces, sweats, blankets, hot chocolate, warm soup, cozy coats and jackets, warm hats, mittens, and thermals. Those are the things that help me endure the next few months. It is also my favorite holidays coming up--Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love the people as they celebrate with each other and share their love of each other and the Savior. OK winter, bring it on!

More thankfulness

I'm so thankful for my older brother who makes it possible start fresh when I really make a horrible mistake. I'm so thankful for colors, art, and things that brighten up my day. I love children's laughter, babies' babbling, Christmas music ( Oh, Yes!), chocolate, my current numbers on the scale, bread baking, flowers, wrapped Christmas packages, Thanksgiving decorations, reading the Pilgrim journal by my great-great-way greaat grandfather who declared the first Thanksgiving, phone calls from my children, paid bills, and an opportunity to volunteer at the school I used to teach at. I think that opportunity has been waiting for me because I had thought of other volunteer needs, but I just didn't go for them. I will be teaching reading to second graders who are struggling. The Reading specialist that had been working with them died of cancer this week. It will be a special opportunity to fill in a few hours a week to do what I can for them.
